HISTORY OF DAYTONA
- 1972
Henry Abe Industry Co. Ltd. Started in Osaka.
The company's main business was exporting motorcycle supplies and parts to the United States.

Start using DAYTONA brand name.

Released of aluminum alloy ”Seven Star cast wheels” in Japan. This is the first cast wheel exclusively for motorcycles in Japan and pioneers the use of aluminum wheels thereafter.

Company relocates to Iwata City, Shizuoka Prefecture, the center of Japan's motorcycle industry.

The team begins competing in the All Japan Road Race Championship as "TEAM DAYTONA".

In terms of racing activities, the Aprilia RSV250R of Osamu Miyazaki of Team Daytona took its first victory in the GP250 class at the All Japan Road Race Championship in SUGO, beating out the factory machines.

DAYTONA DOHC engine has been first time winner at Mini Moto SX 10E class at Las Vegas, NV.
From then until 2007, Daytona engines won the 10E class three years in a row.
